...I guess the sense of article is not an artistic testament but simply a..."goodbye Sony, now I'm free to do MY things when and how I want".... |

As much as I'm thinking this could be exactly what I've been hoping for (ie back to the oldschool) I'm also slightly worried...
I mean, I've always thought and hoped that Jay wanted to go back to the roots. But... what if...<insert face filled with horror>
What if he's tired of everything he's done so far... What if he wants to do something completely different? I'm not suggesting "polka metal" like I jokingly did some 6 months ago. But he could very well start making cinematic scores, pieces for a full orchestra, 100% electronic soundscapes... whatever... Who knows?
I want him to go back to oldschool, some want him to go back to the AFO era, some prefer the current stuff... But does anyone of us really want him to venture a foray into a whole new domain of music? It's not impossible that he's so bored with everything he's ever done and wants constant change... if you go from a Ferrari to a helicopter you might just as well go from funk to big band jazz... ie Glenn Miller (In The Mood) kind of stuff (but with vocals... obviously) or something even further away from what they've done in the past.
I'm not saying this is very likely though. But we don't know what kind of thoughts are running around in Jay's head. We can only speculate. The future is somewhat uncertain after all. The odds for Jamiroquai to go back to the roots are obviously better than the odds for them to completely change their direction and turn into a metal band. But I wouldn't completely rule out the chances that they will change into something totally different from what we've seen so far during 92-06. _________________ Old school forever! |

Well, Glenn Miller isn´t the only big bander. There are some good big bands out there, and why not listen to Jami songs in big band style? Could be funny! _________________
