thank you for your posts Meike and Deesha... they make me feel a bit nice today! i've been listening salsa, latin jazz and a lot more of latin stuff these last 19 years... and i got a terrific ear for it! and if i say it is because it's true! i'm not coming here to lie all people!

I'm not saying SOLA sucks for percussion! he's an amazing percussionist, but latin are some kinda perfectionists for percussion! and i've been watching jazz and salsa percussionists since i was 2... so, imagine all i've learned in 17 years... SOLA is an all-time musician, and i'm an all-time computers student! i would have studied music and i'm sure i'd be with a band rite now!

I saw SOLA performing here in Venezuela, and WOW, the man knows what he's doing, he's amazing, but you know, he makes a lot of errors that you don't probably hear... my ears are like elephant ones when i'm listening a percussionist play... on the other side, MAURIZIO RAVALICO, is a total wicked percussionist! just listen him at Club Citta' doing his solo at "Tighten Up"... i've never seen Sola do something like that! and there are a lot of other people who are my teachers... Nicky Marrero, Mongo Santamaria, Eddie Montalbo, Ray Barreto, Milton Cardona, Daniel Cadiz (all latinamerican)... Tito Puente and so many others non-latin...

AND! if we talk about drummers... i think i will never end calling people... by now, Derrick McKenzie is in the top, but i can add Sonny Emory............. and i don't want to say more... hehe

thanks for your comprenhension ladies! it really made my day and make me feel so happy! thanks to you Iñaki for making me feel like i'm a good for nothing! if i find someone with a pair of congas, i'll try to record myself playing some latin jazz stuff...

bye people!
keep on groovin'

he knows more than you about any kind of percussion for sure.

ok... i really thank you for your comprehension and support!
"how could you be better than him if he's in Jamiroquai?...."
when you say that you hurt my feelings! i dunno what happened but one day i saw you like a hero (the beards and all that stuff) and a great friend and now you're saying i'm not like them because i'm not popular and i'm not in a popular band!
so sad bro! but thanks! i still like you man! you're a great person!
i will have to keep fighting to be someone in this life!

bye Iñaki! Sad

you are totally wrong with me.
i'm sorry to hurt your feelings for not giving you support and comprehension . that's not my intention. i dind't say and i don't think sola is better than you because he is famous and it's on jamiroquai. i never listened to you playing percussion, i don't know how good you are, you may be so good and i really wish to hear you playing someday, but for me this is not a thing of support or comprehension. for me it's just logical to think that sola, whos a proffesional and so experienced percussionist, and specially so passionate about learning ALL the techniques, who haves in his back more than 30 years in percussion world knows more than you about percussion. with this, again, i don't want to hurt you, or say you are a bad player, but you have to be a real master to pretend to be better than him with 7 years of practicing.
abou looking me as a hero, i'm sorry that's another mistake. i'm just a normal guy who loves jamiroquai and loves to know other fans like you.
i never pretended to be a hero for anyone and much less because of my beard Laughing Laughing
please, excuse me if i hurted you.
i really hope you can be a great percussionist one day if that's what you want, but remember that, although not get that, you're still someone in this life.

logically sola is better than you guy because is style is so much richer than yours. sola is first of all african and got african nigerian yoruba style on top of that he got the latin vibes. people like you or morizio will never have that cause they are technically limited in only one style.

HOW many style do you master?

furthermore, what you call sola's mistakes is in fact his personnal touch when he play a conga loops. if u'r a real musician you have to add your flava in the stuff. but people like are only good at reproducing what they have learnt in school consequently it sounds good but whithout personnality or personal flava.

what doesz the difference whith sola is that ! even if you a good persussionist in your only latin style YOU LL NEVER REACH SOLA LEVEL
