Album sales
Hi everybody!
Now that Jamiroquai has released the Greatest Hits compilation, it would be interesting to know how many copies of each album were sold in the Sony era. I was looking for these figures for some time already and I haven't found anything except some pieces of information, like the total number is 27 million, and the biggest hit, TWM, has sold over 11 million, and Synkronized over 4 million (but these numbers are probably outdated now).
So, does anybody know these figures? or maybe some other ones, like the biggest crowd they've ever played to? I think, fans should know this. |

I wanted to know this for a very long time too. AFO sold 5 million apparently, Dynamite I have no idea, but perhaps 3 or 4.

This information is not readily available to the general public as record companies like to keep this to themselves. This is why you only ever get approximations.
You will only get this infor from a record company insider or member of the band.
I guess we can only hope that someone in the Jamily has access to this information as it would be quite good to know to compare the 6 main albums and then the greatest hits. |

Yeah, I know that no-one is giving away the exact fugures, but some pieces of information may appear, for example, in the music press. If we could get them all together, we might get some picture.
Does anyone know about EOPE and ROTSC? at least approximately? |

Just do the maths.
I still can't understand that since the last years of AFO and even today, they keep saying 'more than 20 million albums', IM SURE they passed the 25 million mark!!!!

No, at the end of the Synkronized era they said over 16 milion albums.
As far as I know:
EOPE: no idea
ROTSC: no idea
TWM: I think over 8.2 milion albums, that's what Jay said in an interview.
SYnk: 4.5. I remember that in a 'Canned Heat' perfomance during the WMA from 2000 Jamiroquai was presented as 'the best selling-British group, with more than 4.5 million albums!'
AFO: As Diego said, apparently 5 millon albums, that's what press say all the time, including los40 magazine.
Dynamite: no idea (I SUPPOSE over 1.8 or 2 million albums)
GH: we'll see!! |

Math:
TWM 8,2M + Synk 4,5M = 12,7M
16M - 12,7M = 3,3M
Only 3,3M of EOPE&ROTSC during 1993-2000? Is it possible? I don`t think so! |

I think it's possible, because those albums, specially the first one, wasn't extremely well-known out of the UK.
However, I'm not the truth, of course. I'm only suggesting that, according to some interviews and some contrasted extra info , the number of sales that I posted before is quite acceptable. |

I'm pretty sure that the total number is 27 million with TWM over 11 million. At least that's what they wrote in the Guinness World Record Book. |
