hi, i think Paul is fantastic bassist,
I love the way you play, Paul!!!!!
you have unique talent to make up cool grooves.
Nick used Music Man on Synkronized and
Lakland and Music Man basses on Funk Odyssey
and oh boy how i love those sounds!!!!!
Stuart also used Music man somewhere on albums.
this is because Stuart experimented a lot with sound!!!
Stu once said: "I did use a variety of basses on all the albums. Alembic, Fender, Musicman, and Warwick were the basses used."
about fender Stu said this:
"I usually play whatever the track needs. I find the older basses have more dirt and less of a clinical sound than the new ones, though there is some monstrous bottom end to be found on some of the newer models. I lean towards my trusty 64P-bass a lot these days."
and as about myself i love (as Paul and Stuart) Fender basses the most!!!! |

Look at the posts after Paul's one, they always start this way:
So...
Hi Paul!
Just wanna say that the lines you played on Canned Heat breakdown on Jazz Café were amazing. _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

Hi everyone,
Firstly I must admit I asked Meike to post my reply as I had to get it off my chest!
I really appreciate all your positivity and kind wishes.
My family are well thanks and the boys are growing so fast.
To be honest I find time management my toughest challenge and rarely get to answer calls and emails even from my family and best friends sometimes!
Therefore I choose not to have a myspace or web. Also I can't help but get down or frustrated after critisism, so I deal with it by not getting involved too often and just do my thing.
When Rob told me about this thread I remembered another comment and out came my reply!
I'm sorry it had some sting. I'm also sorry I was a little technically absorbed.
Ezzi, I LOVE your reply. Had me
Orlan, your appraisal is spot on and I couldn't agree more.
BTW I used MM 5 for Little (with my 70s Mutron) and as Canned Heat came straight after I used it for that too and took the lines lower in a few places.
I used my Jazz on Cosmic Girl! Also Travelling and Love Fool. And my P on Runaway.
I'll check out of the topic now as I gotta get on but once again THANKS and forgive me if I don't comment for some time
xP |

see troll? Paul can play a broom and will still sound cool and funky!
thanks Paul for replying and giving info about the bass' sounds. i love how you play and how jamiroquai tracks sound with you, i just can't understand why they keep hiding you behind the girls! believe or not i would prefer to see you just in front of me rather than that beautifull new girl on the backing vocals _________________

Forgive me for going totally offtopic here, but this is something I've been wanting to say for the last... ooh, 25 or 26 hours now.

Paul - that complete and total GOON who stopped you last night (after the Mean Fiddler gig, since I don't know when you'll read this) and asked if you could send Derrick down, before starting to say how you should get a Myspace... that was me. I hadn't seen this thread and was a little starstruck. I was also, as you may have noticed, rather fixated on making sure my mate got Derrick's autograph (which he did, a few minutes later)!
So, I'm really sorry for pissing you off like that - and I totally forgot to tell you what a fucking AWESOME job you did last night. Normally I look out for the percussion break in TWM, but last night I didn't even notice anything after THAT bass solo! And the others are right, next time, you should insist on standing where we can all see you. Then I might finally be able to get a decent photo of you playing!
Sorry again...

It's so amazing the way Paul Turner has evolved with the band since he's in! I remember when i listend to him the first time and i said: "ohh this guy sounds normal...." hahah one year later i got my dream bass-team: VerdineWhite-StuartZender-PaulTurner!... Paul became one of my favorite bass players! i'm in love with your performance and style Paul!
And now the involvement with Jamirotalk makes it more interesting! i hope to see you around here the most you can! As Orlando said, i saw you Paul playing at the concert here in Venezuela (so stupid and terrible we couldn't met Orlando...) and i was a bit shocked when they all came out, specially Paul, Derrick and Sola... and of course Jay... after being years watching them in videos... i had them like 4 m. in front of me!
I really hope new amazing things to come for the band! you guys are really making me love you hahah
and as Iñaki said, i really prefer to see you in front of the people... they are the BACKING vocals... not the FRONT vocals... you have to be in front as this master did:
haha the more i see him, the more i get crazy! hahaha love ya Stuart!
but well, that's jays desition where his bandmembers are located when playing!
keep on groovin' party people! |
