Dynamite. I really love the tune, especially in the ending when the girls in the background sing "Dynamite! Na, na, na -- Dynamite!". |

oh no you didnt.
"Dynamite" sucked. "Time Wont Wait","Electric Mistress" and "StarChild" were the only good ones.Picked the worst 3 songs to do singles on.
What is up with this lyric.Maybe its just me.
Baby you got that dynamite
I dont know about you but if thats a compliment,im Queen of England
And the only good part of the song was when it was over.
And they named the album after this horrible song? _________________

Ahhh... Yuck. The only part I liked is the chorus. If you think I need to get my ears checked, then you gotta get more respective towards other people's opinions. |

It's a great compliment. (and also used in countless tracks through the funk/disco years) She is dynamite. She has dynamite. He's comparing her characteristics to those of dynamite in that she blows his mind, or looks beautiful enough to make his heart explode and so on and so forth.
Also, for most of the (very friendly people) on here, English isn't their "first" language so it's helpful to be civil and polite.

It is just paradox to go to a jamiroquai fan forum, considering yourself as a fan as well and then judging people about their preferences of jamiroquai songs... come on. You cannot be so wrong in your music taste if you like a jamiroquai song, can you? No matter how you rate them or prefer them - that's everyone's own cup of tea and nobody should be critizised for prefering one album to another one. It's all jamiroquai anyways. And people come from different backgrouds and have their reasons why they do like one album or one song more than another. Just respect others opinions and tastes in music. It's a no-go that you come to jamirotalk, say you like Dynamite and get dissed...!!!
Of course you can open a topic in order to discuss which track of Jamiroquai is musicially the most complicated, the most unique because of unusual use of harmonies, rhythms, which track is the most innovative, complex or has the best improvisations or variety of instruments... or whatever! That would be a discussion you can come up with facts and know-how.
But as long is is about music taste... which is about emotions, personal feelings, love, individual preferences... you cannot say: you are wrong, you need to get your ears cleaned. People rate songs in different ways - some like a song because it has nice harmonies, some like a song because of a catchy melodie or rhythm, some like a song when it is just structured simply and therefore has a kind of brillinacy - some take care about the lyrics, the instruments, the complexity of the harmonies... there are so different ways to rate or rank a song.... everyone has a different scale of values - so you cannot really compare the positions of peoples music taste - you have to respect it and take it as it is.
Sorry, for getting long here, but as this pops up again and again I wanted to make clear my position and the position of Jamirotalk: I'd like people to respect others opinions here in this community. Of course you can discuss as much as you want as long as you are respectful. No Jamiroquai fan should be afaid to mention honestly which jamiroquai album he/she likes most.
Thanks.

I was torn between Talulah, Starchild and Time Won't Wait. But for some reason I think Talulah is the song I'd like the most in 10 years so I voted for that one. The silver medal goes to Starchild. _________________ Old school forever! |

I quite agree with you, Jonas! Although, I couldn't possibly rate one track above another because, for me, I listen to each of the tracks according to the emotion I'm feeling at the time...
Talulah - when I miss someone very dear to my heart.
Starchild - when I feel I need some emotional strength.
Time Won't Wait - when I'm looking forward to a Jamiroquai gig!

I would say Talullah just because it's like a rebirth of jmq's acid jazz but TWW, DGHAC, 7DISJ and Dynamite too are in my fav list _________________ I once had a 10 years of Travelling Without Moving celebrations banner here... |

It's been more than a year, and my current favorite is still 'Electric Mistress'. 'Starchild' right after.

Time Won't Wait is still my favorite...but Electric Mistress has really grown on me. _________________ "...I feel that Jamiroquai needs to be taken to another stage now. It really does.
