Contradictory Jay
Hello Jamirotalkers,
I came up with this after snorry's post on the Old Picture posted by Jamirofan2000, where Jay was in a War Helicopter. And like snorry said, a pacifist guy like him in there?
And is not the only thing I found contradictory on Jay's human principles:
1) I remember on a Much Music interview after the release of Synkronized, he was talking about don't know what -it doesn't matter- and he said "Ahh... I would like to kill them" (or something like it) and with his hand making a gun and saying "BANG BANG BANG". Maybe he said that joking, but still...
2) He always talks about violence and that we spent all this 2000 years fighting each other... and what about when he hits photographers, or he says "the UK press is scum" (Much Music Interview after the release of AFO). Don't you think if he wants a peaceful place to live, he should not make those arguments?
3) There are, of course, the cars and the environment's contamination.
4) I would like to think that the hats and the jacket of the AFO tour (the one he wears on the cover of the album), or the one he wears on the Love Foolosophy video (or the hat he wear on that Bad Girls cover with Anastasia) is not made of fur! I mean, even if it is not made of it (that I am sure), he is like "promoting" on some way to wear it (take the Adidas as an example: he wears it, and because some commercial reason, some of the fans are wearing Adidas as well! Like me, I keep buying Adidas. And if you want to check about this go to the Outfit section). You can see, specially on the When You Gonna Learn video, that he doesnt agree on killing animals (like we all do), if that is true, why he wears imitation of fur... I mean, dead animals????
I don't know if someone realized about this, and I know he has a vegetable garden and all, but I want to know your opinion of this as a fan.
Bye,
D! (diego) |

maybe this part of the interview with jay kay which i posted before can help you figure this out:
"I know what you're getting at. I get at it myself. Do you think I don't go home and watch myself on the television and think;What a prat! What's he talking about?; Course I do! But what else am I going to do? Because in the end I knowledge myself on the subject and then maybe try and do something about it. I know, I'm a fucking hypocrite, I've got two fucking classic cars, and we have an ozone problem...";
so jay knows he is contradictory! _________________ "on the bass st.st..st..stuuu zender!!"

I agree with you Diego, I don't want to, and I wish we were wrong, but its true. I had a similar discussion about this with Brent (jamirofan) a little while back. Altough, I did hear something somewhere in an interview where Jay points out that he does have all these classic cars, but he only drives one at a time (I hate to admit it, but he does have a point). I never thought of the fur thing, of course, he could be sporting that because of his indian heritage, like paying homage to them, not endorsing to wear fur. Regardless, he does seem a little hypocritical. But, i don't know, its probably so hard to try to do the right thing when your a huge icon and the press is ready to rip apart your every move. I'd go nuts on the press too! But, its easy to be misguided by what Jay says and what Jay does. _________________ This is our corner of the Earth |

cocaine intoxication causes alot of anger, changes in socialbility, anger, grandiosity, talkativeness, anger, impaired judgement, anxiety, anger, hypervigilance and finally the euphoria (but really cocaine makes more of these other changes than euphoria). If naturally youre an angry person perhaps the changes cocaine makes wouldnt be that noticeable- but if youre not you could come across as being contradictory. Cocaine gives heart trouble- (things like chest pain, edema, can mess with the rhythm) and if its used with other drugs at high doses it can cause hospitalization if a person tries to stop cold. Not to mention how it sets a person up for depression by changing the wiring in the brain that controls how happy we are day to day. This effects health just as much as something like diabetes effects a persons health. |

Of course! I forgot about the cocaine addiction when I posted to this topic yesterday. Very good point Mandy. That explains a lot. He's been through rehab for that, right? _________________ This is our corner of the Earth |

The Contradiction of JK always gets thicker....
Hello, :bm_r:
Hehe, yeah, that crafty JK and his tongued ties ! Well, you really can't blame him, I mean he came from hard times to rise to the top of the game. I really never seem to be amazed when JK screws up on his views, comes with the "popstar" moniker. Great info Diego, funny funny stuff ! Thanks for listening and keep the contradictions coming JK ! Peace!
Sincerely,
