expectations of new member
just to have something to talk about... :P
what would be your personal criteria for the new keyboardist? would he have to have good songwriting skills? be a face u've seen before? be one of your buds from music school? can dance better than jay? be sexier than nick? have a gleaming set of chompers?
i think it would be nice for him to be a previous good friend of the group, like one of jay's old skater homies
and of course he MUST be able to write KILLER choons :D
and he has to be SUPER friendly to the fans, which i definitely think he will be becuase he's new. nice to see nick and rob keeping it up! |

Good question, davina!
Well, first of all I think he should be a creative, talented musician with own ideas which fit to the music of Jamiroquai. It would be great if he had the chance to write some songs on the next album.
I don't care if he is sexy - even if I did, I wouldn't admit - you know I am married
Yes, and you are totally right: He must care about the fans, and he will be welcome to post here at Jamirotalk of course!

hey they have already chosen him haven't they? You know, it would have been really interesting to have a new female member--just a thought! |

A Female keyboardist would be nice, a humourous expectations
Hello ,
I think a female keyboardist for Jamiroquai would be a great idea, finally a women enters a field dominated by men. I just hope Jay Kay doesn't fall for her while they collaborate on songs, then no work would get done! I just came up with a funny list of expectations for the new keyboardist, he or she it ends up being, I hope you find it funny:
*EXPECTATIONS & DUTIES OF THE JAMIROQUAI KEYBOARDIST*
1. Must expect to be ponced on and licked into submission by Jay's doggies Titan & Luger.
2. Must be available during rehearsals to get Jay and other members of band cups of coffee and pick up meals at local restuarant drive-up windows.
3. Must say positive things and compliment Jay Kay's weekly girlfriends.
4. When Jay Kay smokes some marijuana and passes the joint around all the band members, you must take a puff!
5. Must be able to pick up Jay Kay's dry cleaning and polish his blade hats.
6. When there is a disagreement between band members leading to one walking off in anger and threathening to quit, grab butterfly net and try to catch them before they go off and join the group "Gorillaz".
7. And finally, the most important thing, never say the following comment while on tour, "I wonder how Toby Smith is doing?", if you say that, you will be met with snickers from the road crew and bandmembers miffing "Did you have to say that!"
There you go, I hope the new addition to Jamiroquai helps continue the long legacy of Jamiroquai music! Peace and man am I funny! LOL
Sincerely,

Who this guy is.....
I was chatting to Rob and Nick at RE:CONNECTED on Saturday and this new guy has played a lot of session work with Rob already and gelled really well with the band during the audition. He's gonna get his big unveiling at Ealing next week so good luck to him! :)

new keyboardist
I never thought about it, but it'd be great to have a female member in Jamiroquai. And of course, they should be able to follow the guidelines set by Jamirofan2000! (good job, I had a good laugh )
But the most important is that they should be groovy n' funky, dont'you think?
