Hm, maybe they keep it secret because it isn't really something they do for an audience - they more do it for themselves.
In september 2006, when they did the first (?) "secret gig" Rob and Matt commented the news item at funkin.

So, like Rob says... it's like going to the gym. And maybe they just enjoy being "incognito" in front of a small audience in a small bar and see how the people react to the music, probably without knowing who is actually playing.
I knew that there would be another "secret gig" that week, and I told you. So there was the chance to go and enjoy for those who read my messages. ALthough I didn't know the place and the exact date, you could have found out while reading Rob's myspace - there was a hint.
I hope they will book bigger venues for the future and let us know about it. .... Like Matt said in his previous blog, last year:

by the way... Rob has a new pic as avatar at his myspace profile:
When you look closely, it seems to be the same venue like on this older pic taken from his pic's archive:
This was from the gig in september in Cambridge.
Rob wears a similar (if not the same) shirt, so maybe this new pic is either from the same gig or it was taken at the gig last week in the same venue.
I guess it's from the gig in september - same clothes, same painting on the wall, same guitar in his hands... the red drums in the back...

That is great that they are playing gigs like this.. getting back to the real world of live music.. Nothing beats going to see a live band in a smaller venue (pub or bar) etc.. and as for "secret"..cloak and dagger lol.. too funny.. i can just see them with the dark cloaks and masks.. i keep picturing zoro or something.. 
Is it just me or does look like the back of Steve's (steffenfunk) head that second pic u put up mouse lol.. Maybe he went to this secret squirrels gig.. i must ask him next time  ..

I want to let you all know that Jamiroquai as a band might be taking a break but it wont be for too long I assure you we just need time to get our new stuff together and start to enjoy dong what we love doing best which is writing playing and gigging!!!!!!!!!!!!
We know you all might be thinking oh my gosh what’s going on here is there more scandal like in the papers!!!!!!! HELL NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! I can assure you we are all good, my dear fans. If we have another gig we will let David know on this site and if you check our my space pages it will be on there also.
Please remember we will play covers only, the songs that we love to play and listen too.
Wishing you all the very best and making sure that we will see you all real soon!!!!!!!!
