Jam in Turkey 2003 - question for sedaquai
Hi sedaquai,
you've told us that you've been to the jamiroquai gig in Istanbul on 20th september 2003. We knew that it was the first (and last?) concert with the new bassman "Alex Meadows" after Nick left the band. We still don't know nearly nothing about that concert and I am still curious about a detailed review about the concert.
Maybe you can still imagine some facts from the show? Maybe you have been close to the stage and can tell us something about ALEX?
We don't know if he will tour with the boys (probably not) but he did some tunes on the new album (Black Devil Car) so it's still interesting to learn something about him, in my opinion.
I hope you can enlighten us a bit!

Hi Jamirotalkers
yes it is possible Fra
Firsly what a pity that i learnt Jamiroquai in 2002 with their last album A Funky Odyssey.Because in Turkey a few people know Jamiroquai and their music
When i heard their music(corner of the earth) i became their big fan
I wanted to see them in Turkey and 2003 Jamiroquai came in Istanbul
It was unbelievable ,was not it? They came a showland which is near my house
Their performance was perfect.Jay Kay has a non-stop energy.
It is pleausure for me to watch him.
i think he is so charming.
I was sad because he did not sing (virtuel insanity, too young to die ect.) At the end of the concert he sang Deeper Underground.
But i was not allowed to take a photography
Alltogether we sang this song so that we really enjoyed.
That's all. |

Well that is the usual , like in anyother gig around the world!
But that wont stop me to take my MiniDV cam , and my mp3 recorder to the next gig in portugal! I promisse lots of photos and a bootleg too
Well anyway, tanks for this review that you made for us about the performance of jamiroquai in Turkey _________________ hooked up |

Well in Lörrach we were searched to the bones by the unfriendly and touchy guarding staff, no chance to get in with a "normal" camera. If I ever will win in lottery I will surely buy an expensive flat and small camera..more easy to hide. for the next concert.
But for me it was more annoying, that you even weren't allowed to take plastic water bottles inside...so that you could decide on the place only to get real thirsty for the next hours or loosing your good place to get a drink somewhere _________________

Good thought Mon ... But if I win the Lottery....I'll pay Jamiroquai to play a private concert for all of us on here _________________ I used to worry about the future
