CD IMPORT DISCOVERY: EOPE (Vinyl Classics) German CD!!!
Hello,
Looks like Sony is rereleasing some old Jami singles or something, cause I just found a weird new Jami Import for sale ! I found it on the CDUniverse website listed for sale (www.cduniverse.com), it's titled "Emergency On Planet Earth: Vinyl Classics" and is a German Import. The record notes on the site read as so: "Limited edition reissue of this classic album presented in a special package featuring a CD with a top side that resembles an original LP vinyl album, but don't let the looks deceive you...it's a fully playable CD." Here's a link to the CDuniverse listing about this release also :
http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6769524&cart=200176619&style=music&Bab=E
Hmm, it's listed on "backorder", and come out on July 26th 2004, I don't know if this is a new release import I didn't know about or what. But I'll look around some more European music sites for more info. Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,
JamiroFan2000
P.S. There's also a listing for this import at the HMV website (LINK TO LISTING: http://www1.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=226918)

UPDATE ABOUT IMPORT!!!!
Hello again,
I did a little more digging and I actually more info about this import ! I looked on the German Amazon.com website and found a complete listing for the "EOPE: Vinyl Classics" import CD! Here's a link to the listing on the site ( Use Altavista Babalfish to translate from German to English ):
http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0002K6YR6/qid=1092184861/sr=1-33/ref=sr_1_0_33/302-1489914-3720014
Also, here's picture of what the cover of the CD import looks like ...cool:
(After reading the German to England translation of the notes) Oh man, it's only a repackaging of the EOPE album ! Oh well, at least this repackage has some nice optic cd case material..hehe! Thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Your welcome Mtey!!!
Hello again,
Your very welcome Mtey, I'm glad I could help you out in discovering this release ! Your really right, very sad how I had to do all that "net digging" on sites just to find more info about this release. I even checked out the releases list on the Sony Music Germany site and they didn't have this release noted . What a tosser Sony has become! Oh well, at least you know about it now, thanks to me ! Enjoy the CD when it arrives and take care Mtey! Peace!
Sincerely,

Well, I looked furthermore.
Spiegel is otherwise German newspaper. If you compare their sign and the one on cover, you'll see they're pretty much the same.
Hm, I didn't find anything useful on spiegel site.
I'll provide more info as soon as I receive it

Glorious news!
I've received my CD today. Very fast I must say. Here are some pictures:
Isn't it just great? And look at the CD. It's all black As you can see, the rest of the cover is the same (front, back)
Classy

Oh really?
A part of box set? And my suspicions were right, Spiegel had something with this. Well, they had everything.
Nevertheless, I think it was worth it. The CD is beautiful! |

Hehe...nice pictures Mtey
Hello yet again,
WOW ! Great pictures of the CD Mtey, I almost about to go out blindly buy this rariety release, but after your pictures, I don't know if I really need this after all . It's not my intention to kill the "great mood" around this CD, it's just I rebought EOPE and ROTSC albums last Christmas, but they were Aussie versions of the albums! And the great thing, they were on sale for only $7 each, because they sell alot of Aussie copies of back catalogue albums at Christmas at Plan 9 Music, my fav record store. Still I am a little curious about the CD Mtey: Does this release feature any extended versions of the EOPE tracks "WYGL", "TYTD" or "IILIIDI" (Translations: WYGL=When You Gonna Learn, TYTD=Too Young To Die, & IILIIDI=If I Like It, I'll Do it) like it's vinyl release predecessor ? I hope you can answer my question Mtey, again, your welcome in helping finding out about this release, I'm so happy you loved it ! I'll keep my eyes peeled for more rereleases of Jami albums, thanks for listening and Peace!
Sincerely,

Well, unfortunately, all songs are completely the same as normal EOPE release. That means no extended versions. Oh, and I didn't need the translations
All that's different is cardboard sleeve and CD. The front and back cover of CD is completely the same as 1993 release.
Well, too bad. But, as we said before, this is re-release |
